We endeavour to teach English in a fun, often indirect way. Whether you prefer art, sport, music or drama or maybe some other activity, we'll find something you'll feel comfortable with.

Pupils in front of golden Buddah

Thailand is a wonderful country to volunteer in. Volunteer teachers live within a Thai community and given the Thai's friendly and hospitable nature, a rewarding experience awaits. Those who volunteer to teach English are making a difference to the life chances of our students and helping children with Down syndrome receive an inclusive education.

Below is some information for volunteers:

The Foundation does not charge volunteers to volunteer.

The school terms in Thailand run from mid-May to end of September, and from early November to mid-March.
The Thai Government require that all volunteer teachers obtain a Police criminal record check from your home country.
Volunteers must cover their own airfares to Thailand and we strongly recommend you have medical insurance.

The Good Child Foundation does not require it's volunteers to be TEFL qualified English teachers. Although we can not afford to pay a salary we can provide food and accommodation. Short term volunteers willing to teach English or Chinese for a minimum of six weeks to three months are most welcome. Simply email your details and skills to info@goodchildfoundation.com.

Latest news for 2012:

Due to the great demand for volunteer places and only two placements being available, we now supply volunteers to a Thai government run Orphanage and a school in Chanthaburi city which caters for special needs children in an inclusive environment.
Both schools require their volunteers to be non-smoking and have no tattoos. Proof of no criminal record will be required to volunteer.
The minimum period to volunteer at either school is one month. Accommodations and meals at school are provided, there is no fee to volunteer.

Interviews are by skype for volunteer placements.
